Do I Need A Nightguard?

Several people that we have treated have suggested that we make all of our patients aware of the success that they’re having with a simple appliance that we have made for them.

Each year some of our patients break their teeth. They often say it happened when they were eating something very soft.

Often, the cause of breaking teeth, or even injuring them enough to cause root canal damage, often happens while you are sleeping. Many of us clench or grind our teeth at night and wake up with broken teeth, jaw pain and even headaches.

We often recommend a NIGHTGUARD – a thin, comfortable removable appliance which is made of clear acrylic. It fits precisely on either your upper or lower teeth and is worn when you sleep.

The nightguard lessens the pressure placed on your teeth when you clench or grind.

Do you find that you are clenching or grinding your teeth even during the day when you are caught in bumper to bumper traffic or when you are behind your computer trying to meet a deadline? If so, you may be a good candidate for a nightguard. It really helps during these stressful times during the day as well.

Please call us. We’ll be happy to examine your mouth and help you to protect your teeth and perhaps lessen your headache pain.
