Cosmetic & Reconstructive Dentistry Announces New Scholarship for Fairfield, CT High School Students

TeamUncategorized

Cosmetic & Reconstructive Dentistry is proud to deepen its commitment to the Fairfield, CT community with the launch of a new scholarship program created by Dr. Donald Miller for graduating seniors at Fairfield’s public high schools. Beginning in 2026, the practice will award two scholarships—one to a student from Fairfield Ludlowe High School and one to a student from Fairfield Warde High School—who plan to pursue studies in nursing, science, or medicine. Each recipient will receive a $500 scholarship to support their education and future in healthcare

“As a Fairfield resident, parent, and healthcare provider, supporting local high school students who want to care for others is a very meaningful way we can give back,” says Dr. Miller. “These incredible students are the next generation of nurses, doctors, and medical professionals, and we’re honored to play a small role in their journey forward.”

Partnering with the High School Scholarship Foundation of Fairfield

To help administer the award fairly and transparently, the Cosmetic & Reconstructive Dentistry scholarship will be managed through the High School Scholarship Foundation of Fairfield (HSSFF). Since 1989, HSSFF has awarded over $2.2 million in one-time scholarships to graduating seniors at Fairfield Ludlowe, Fairfield Warde, and the Walter Fitzgerald campus.

Through this partnership, Dr. Miller’s scholarship will follow the same application and review process as other HSSFF awards, ensuring that students are evaluated based on financial need, academic achievement, school and community service, and other relevant factors.

Who Is Eligible to Apply for the Cosmetic & Reconstructive Dentistry Scholarship?

High school seniors interested in this new scholarship should keep the following in mind:

  • Applicants must be graduating seniors from Fairfield Ludlowe High School or Fairfield Warde High School.
  • Students from Walter Fitzgerald Campus, who are often connected to one of the two primary high schools, will also be considered should they apply.
  • Applicants must be interested in pursuing studies in nursing, science, or medicine.
  • Students must complete the official HSSFF scholarship application in full and submit it by the stated deadline.

How and When to Apply

The HSSFF will announce when the Cosmetic & Reconstructive Dentistry application goes live in early April 2026. HSSFF will also share information through its website, at the schools, and via social media, with a link to the online application. The Cosmetic & Reconstructive Dentistry scholarship will be listed among the available awards, and interested students can indicate their interest when completing the HSSFF form.

Applicants will have approximately 2–3 weeks to complete and submit their materials. Once the application period and deadline are finalized, HSSFF will inform all donors, including Dr. Miller, so announcements remain consistent across all channels.

Supporting the Next Generation of Healthcare Professionals

Dr. Miller’s own path—from Boston College and the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine to advanced cosmetic and surgical training at the University of North Carolina—inspired him to create an opportunity for local students who share a passion for science and caring for others. By easing a small part of the financial burden of higher education, this scholarship aims to encourage Fairfield students to pursue careers that will strengthen the health and wellbeing of communities for years to come.

Cosmetic & Reconstructive Dentistry looks forward to celebrating the first two scholarship recipients in 2026 and continuing to support Fairfield students as they pursue their dreams in nursing, science, and medicine. Students and families are encouraged to follow announcements from the HSSFF and their school counseling departments for official application details and deadlines.
