How Much Are Dental Implants in Fairfield County?

TeamDental Implants

Dental implants are the only solution for missing teeth that replaces both the visible portion of the tooth and the root below the gum line, helping preserve jaw bone mass in the process. What does this mean for you? Dental implants keep your bite strong, stop other teeth from shifting or becoming loose, and prevent facial collapse, which causes a prematurely aged appearance.

Here are some of our patients’ most frequently asked questions about dental implants.

How much are dental implants in Fairfield County CT?

The cost of dental implants varies based on the materials used and your unique needs, but the average cost range is $1000 to $3000 for a single implant. The abutment and crown that attach to the dental implant add another $500 to $3000 to the total cost.

How effective are dental implants?

Dental implants are very effective, offering patients a more durable, stable, and natural-feeling replacement for missing teeth. Dental implants have a success rate of up to 98 percent, depending on the bone quality and the integrity of the implant restoration.

How painful is it to get dental implants?

We ensure that you’re comfortable and pain-free during dental implant surgery. You’ll be given local anesthesia to numb the area where we’re working and, if needed, IV sedation to help you feel calm and relaxed during the procedure. Once the local anesthesia begins to wear off, you’ll experience some discomfort, but most patients find dental implants less painful than a tooth extraction.

Will insurance cover dental implants?

As more dental insurance carriers are seeing the benefits of dental implants, more are covering at least some of the costs involved. Every plan is different, so you’ll need to check with your carrier or our benefits coordinator to determine how much you’ll need to pay out-of-pocket. Funds from your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) can also be used towards your dental implants and restorations.

Can dental implants be done in one day?

There are some dental implant procedures that can be performed in a single day under certain circumstances, but most are performed in three steps:

  1. If tooth extractions are needed, these are done first. Bone grafting is then used to ensure that your jaw has sufficient bone mass to successfully support a titanium or ceramic implant screw.
  2. One to three months later, the implants are placed in your jaw.
  3. Your custom implant crowns and abutments are fabricated and attached.

How long does it take for dental implants to heal?

It takes anywhere from one to six months for dental implants to heal. Although the external incisions will heal much faster, it takes months for the bone to heal around the titanium or ceramic implant posts. This process is called osseointegration and it’s one of the most important factors in determining the success of your dental implants.

Can I eat after implant surgery?

You can eat again whenever you feel up to it, although a soft diet is recommended for the first few days after implant surgery. We’ll provide you with detailed instructions with more information about aftercare.
