How Much Does Invisalign Cost in Fairfield County?

TeamInvisalign

The Invisalign system is popular with our patients because it gives them the opportunity to straighten their teeth without drawing attention to the fact that they’re undergoing orthodontic treatment. Invisalign is discreet, comfortable, and more convenient than traditional metal braces. Even better, it works just as well as braces for most cases, meaning there are no compromises when you choose Invisalign.

Here are some of the questions we hear from our patients about Invisalign:

How much does Invisalign cost in Fairfield County, CT?

The price of Invisalign usually ranges between $3500 and $7500. The cost depends on the number of aligners needed and the duration of your treatment.

How do I pay for Invisalign?

You’ll need to make a down payment, then the balance is typically paid with a monthly payment that continues for as long as you’re undergoing treatment. Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) funds can both be used to pay for Invisalign.

Is Invisalign covered by insurance?

If your dental insurance covers the cost of orthodontic treatment, it’s likely that it will cover at least part of the cost of your Invisalign treatment. All plans are different, but usually the amount covered is between $500 and $2500.

How painful is Invisalign?

You may have some mild discomfort with Invisalign, especially during the first week of treatment and after you change your aligners, but it’s not very painful. The soreness patients experience is because their teeth and gums are adjusting to the feel and pressure of their aligners; this pressure is what straightens your teeth.

What’s cheaper, braces or Invisalign?

The cost of traditional metal braces and Invisalign aligners is about the same. Ceramic and sublingual braces, which go on the backs of the teeth instead of the front, cost more than Invisalign.

Does Invisalign give you a lisp?

Invisalign does impact your speech, but only temporarily. The first day or two that you wear your aligners, you might notice a slight lisp when you make ‘s’ and ‘t’ sounds. Once your tongue gets used to the sensation of the aligners on your teeth, your speech will be back to normal.

Can you drink and eat with Invisalign?

You can drink water while wearing Invisalign aligners, but you shouldn’t drink hot liquids, which can warp your aligners, or sugary drinks, which can get trapped between your aligners and your teeth and cause cavities. Before you eat, you’ll need to remove your aligners.

Is it difficult to talk with Invisalign?

Aside from the one or two days of adjustment mentioned above, you’ll have completely normal speech with Invisalign. The aligners don’t impact your ability to talk.

Is Invisalign as good as braces?

Braces and Invisalign aligners are both effective when it comes to straightening teeth, but Invisalign has the advantage of also being faster, more comfortable, discreet, convenient, and predictable. For these reasons, most patients prefer Invisalign.

Can I kiss with Invisalign?

Yes. No one will notice that you’re wearing your aligners when you kiss them.

Can I take a selfie with Invisalign?

Yes. Your aligners will not show in selfies or any other photos. Some patients do choose to take out their Invisalign aligners before big events, which is the beauty of Invisalign—braces don’t offer that kind of flexibility. As long as you put your aligners back on in a timely manner and don’t make a habit of leaving them out, it won’t impact your treatment.

How long will the Invisalign treatment take?

As long as you comply with the instructions you’re given, Invisalign treatments are usually faster than traditional braces. In our practice, average treatment time for Invisalign is five to eight months, while metal braces can take up to two years to produce results.
